International Immersion
The International Immersion Programme is a unique initiative by MIT-WPU conducted with the aim to expose students to the best of international institutions, organizations and practices in their field of study.
Seventy-two students from Semesters V and VII of the School of Design had the incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of design during their visit to Dubai Design Week '23 at Design District. They embarked on a captivating journey, participating in enriching workshops, exploring awe-inspiring exhibitions featuring renowned international brands, marvelling at exquisite Italian furniture displays, and delving into the innovative realm of futuristic sustainable materials revolutionizing various design fields, such as Fashion, Products, Visual Communication, Furniture, and Interior Space Design.
Students get to visit the research organizations, universities, industries and governmental agencies of repute and gain a global perspective as well as advance their knowledge.
They are made aware of the latest international developments in their field and the possible opportunities in research and industry. They get to interact with foreign faculty and experts and work on group projects, case studies and projects to implement the knowledge acquired.
They are exposed to the benchmarked academic and industry practices and get global networking opportunities which gives them an edge in the highly competitive job market, and helps them climb the corporate ladder.
The International Immersion programmes have been conducted at Nanyang Technical University & National University - Singapore, University of Hull & University of Leicester, UK , NTU , NUS, Singapore, University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, USA, University of Tennessee, USA, Maharishi University of Management, USA, La Trobe University, Victoria, Melbourne, Australia, University of Cardiff, Wales, UK, University of Dalarna ,Sweden, Telecom Ecole de Management, Paris, France, VU University, Amsterdam, Netherlands among other institutes till date.
