Mr. Devam ThapaAssistant Professor
Bio
Devam Thapa is a faculty member in the Department of Media & Communication at the School of Liberal Arts, MIT World Peace University. He holds an M.Phil and Ph.D. in Media Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and an M.A. from Doon University. He has successfully cleared the UGC NET JRF three times, in 2014, 2016, and 2017.
Devam Thapa has collaborated with renowned research institutions such as the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, and the Centre for Environment & Climate Change at NIAR (now NCGG) at LBSNAA, Mussoorie. Additionally, he was involved in a major ICSSR-funded research project at Doon University, where he also served as a faculty member at the School of Media & Communication Studies.
His research has been published in prestigious journals, including New Media & Society (Sage Journals) and Mobile Media & Communication (Sage Journals), as well as in a book chapter by Routledge (Taylor & Francis Group) and UGC CARE-listed journals.
Devam Thapa's scholarly interests lie in exploring Media Technology & Society, Social Movements, and the folklore, culture, and society of the Himalayan region.
