Outreach Program
In the initiatives of outreach, our students have embarked on impactful activities, ranging from prestigious internships to community health projects and health promotion activities. Notably, students undertook a two-month internship at SEARCH (Society for Education, Action, and Research in Community Health) in Gadchiroli, diving into the complexities of community health in Tribal settings. Others participated in projects at the State Health Systems Resource Centre, gaining practical experience and contributing to state-level initiatives. Our second-year MPH students actively engaged as field investigators in the ‘Assessment of Community Health Officers' Role in Delivery of Comprehensive Primary Health Care Services in Maharashtra’, showcasing the value of state-level collaborations in both capacity building and practical field experience. Moreover, our students conducted outreach activities such as oral health awareness and screening camps at Ashram schools in tribal areas. They organized comprehensive health promotion activities centred around oral hygiene. These initiatives included educational sessions on the importance of maintaining oral health and the consequences of neglecting it. Furthermore, students conducted free dental screenings for children aged 6-10 years, aiming to assess the prevalence of dental caries in the community. This multifaceted approach exemplifies our commitment to community health promotion and capacity building, demonstrating the holistic education and practical experiences our students receive within our department.
